Some of us look a life time for someone to look up too, because in today’s world people like that are hard to find any more. Some are lucky to have a parent they admire, if not when they're young maybe later in life when eyes are more open to scarfices made. Some look to the popular or famous as ones they strive to be like. They see the glamour and assume that they must be so famous because they are a great person. But the higher we hold people up the more likely they are to disappoint. We long to find a hero on this earth, but the days of hero’s is long past I fear.
I know of one that I have long admired and have strived to be like and one I try not to disappoint. She will never be famous, crowds will never scream her name, and history books will never record all that she has done and the lives she has touched. But to those who know her and the few that will take time out of their selfish lives to just talk to her, will find no better person, friend or Christian on this earth than her.
To say she is my hero is an understatement. She always has words of praise on her lips ready to speak them when ever you need encouragement. She never dwells on the negative, because she chooses to see the positive side of life. She has made our house a home no matter how many times we moved or were uprooted. Our children were never void of hugs, kisses or love; she always had plenty to go around.
Today is her birthday and I wish her a very happy one even though I will not be there. You are and will always be the love of my life!
Happy Birthday Angie
I love you!
If you told me that we can be like christ i would say your a liar. I would say that, but i've known my mom for 27 years, so i can't say that. I've learned more than anything else from her, that she really puts the golden rule into practice. I wish every day i could be more like her, but i think it's impossible. Your my hero too mom. And by the way, thanks for giving into us all those times we begged and pleaded for a toy in the store. I know you didn't do it because we wore you down or anything. You did it because you liked seeing us happy. I love you and want to thank you for all the transformers, ninja turtles, and other toys that brought us brief joy over the years. love ryan
ReplyDeleteWell, when I first met Mom, I was crying and as my brothers will tell you, I have not stopped since. But all kidding aside she is the best of all the moms I am affiliated with. No other mom would let you live with her until you are 23 years old. And I don't know of another mom who would say "Doctors are stupid" in so many words when I am upset about a mis-diagnosis. All that stuff is great, but it really doesn't matter. What matters is that I know my mom loves me more than anything and that is what's special to me. That I can walk into her house and plop down on the couch and watch whatever and be completely comfortable, because of all the houses I will ever own, wherever mom is will always be home. So I say as well, happy birthday mom. You are better than all the other mom's and know and I always tell everyone I meet that "my mom thinks I'm cool".
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Mom!
ReplyDeleteI was so young that I didn't notice all the sacrifices you made for us, but now I see how much you really cared for us more than anything else. You always bought things for me when money was tight because you always wanted to make me happy. You stopped everything you were doing to come and catch me whenever I was crying so hard I couldn't see straight. You are always encouraging and always the first person I want to call for advice. You are the selfless servant that I long to be. Money or work never ruled your life. You always served God and your family with all your heart and you still do and by that you have taught me so much! No one can ever replace the feelings I have for you, skinna-marinkey-dinkey-doo, I'll always love you!
